Honda Tuning Policies

Hardware/Software

We tune Honda OBD1 platforms on NepTune RTP/Demon and Hondata S300 only. Crome, Uberdata, Hondata S100 and S200 users will need to upgrade to a current system. We are no longer offering NepTune chip-based tunes. Customers are responsible for providing a working ECU, and any modification beyond installation of the hardware may incur an extra fee (ie VTEC conversion, addition of PWM boost control, IAB addition).

We also strongly recommend all OBD1 customers to permanently install a wideband air/fuel sensor or gauge (AEM UEGO, Innovate MTX-L/LC-1) in the vehicle and hard-wire one of the analog outputs to the ECU. We will provide free installation for purchases of new Hondata S300 or NepTune RTP units, during which we will modify the ECU to receive the wideband input via the ELD at no extra charge.

Basic Rates

Hondata S300, NepTune RTP – Street Tuning $250, Dyno Tuning $450

Hondata KPro – Street Tuning $250, Dyno Tuning $550

Retunes – Street $100/hr, Dyno $200/hr

Please contact info@wicked-performance.com for all questions regarding exact pricing for specific configurations. Depending on your specific setup (large turbo/high power FWD), street tuning may not be available due to safety concerns.

Deposit/Basemap Policy

All tuning appointments require a $100 non-refundable deposit. If you contact us (7) days in advance to reschedule or cancel, we will keep a credit on file for you to be applied to a future tuning appointment or any other Wicked services. We accept payment via cash, PayPal, or credit card.

We can and do provide basemaps for both OBD1 based and KPro vehicles. A basemap will ONLY be provided after a deposit is paid for a tuning appointment. Basemaps will include a boost cut and/or RPM limiter as provided. If you are purchasing a new system we will include a basemap at no charge when you receive the hardware.

Tardiness Policy

If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without notification (email or phone call), you are considered a no-show and forfeit your spot and appointment. All appointments missed by an hour or more are forfeit regardless of notification. Any exceptions to this will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Pre-Tune Inspections (PTI) and Mechanical Policy

All vehicles scheduled to be tuned are assumed to be in proper working order and ready for tuning. If you are not certain that your vehicle is ready, it is in your best interest to schedule a PTI and have us verify that the car is in proper working order. A PTI may be required for extensively modified vehicles requiring dyno tuning to ensure effective use of dyno time. If we REQUIRE the PTI, and no problems are found, the cost to the customer is nothing.

PTIs can include verification of a proper combination of parts, boost leak/smoke testing, basemapping/test driving and much more.

Early termination of a tuning session due to a mechanical issue with a vehicle that did not pass a PTI is solely the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Dyno Policy

All vehicles scheduled to be dyno tuned must have proper factory tie downs in place. If you have a question about the ability of your car to be properly setup on the dyno due to modification or removal of factory tow hooks, excessive lowering, or any other extreme modification it is your responsibility to notify us of that when you schedule your appointment. If your vehicle leaks fluids onto the dyno, there may be an additional cleanup fee assessed.

Street Tuning Policy

All vehicles to be street tuned must be safe to drive. A good rule of thumb is that they should be able to pass a basic state safety inspection. This means, yes, the vehicle needs working brakes, tires with some amount of tread, functioning lights and other basic functions. Keep in mind that high-powered FWD cars can be difficult to drive, and your car’s ability to retain traction on the street will determine how much you are able to get out of a street tune before we go to the dyno. We also require a valid registration and matching license plate(s) to be with the car. Any problems resulting from the street legality of a vehicle are solely the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

State Inspection

As vehicle emissions testing and inspections are an ever changing requirement, we do not guarantee the ability of any vehicle to pass state inspection. It is your responsibility to research and be familiar with your own state’s requirements as they pertain to your vehicle.
